Cordovas from Nashville, TN play Americana, Folk, Southern Rock - for fans of Grateful Dead, CSNY, The Band, Little Feat, Dawes, The Avett Brothers, etc.
I am organizing the first concert presented by my music curation brand "Songpickr". What started with the simple wish to see the incredible band Cordovas live in Berlin, has turned into a "Songpickr Americana Night" - almost a Mini-Festival, happening 12th July 2018 at Privatclub Berlin.
Remember, I am doing this because none of the established bookers in Berlin wanted to book the band. They said: "Too small", "Too early", "Too risky", "Only a full tour", "No German fanbase" and other (understandable) reasons. It's not my life goal to be a booker/promoter and I am not sure if I will do it again but it is for sure an incredible experience. Something I can cross off my bucket list.
I remembered the story of the 18 year old Vera Brandes who organized Keith Jarrett's famous Cologne Concert in 1975. I told myself that everything will be fine and asked myself "What's the worst thing that can happen"? Well, if you remember the story of Vera and Keith - a lot of things! At least I don't need a Bösendorfer grand piano for my show.
In addition to Cordovas from Nashville, TN as headliner, the Berlin Folk Band St. Beaufort and SUSTO (solo) from Charleston, SC are complementing the excellent line-up. You will be in for a treat for your money: 3 bands for 14,50 EUR.
We will have a tight schedule, start on time (don't you hate it when a show simply doesn't start?) with 2 short opening slots by SUSTO (solo) and St. Beaufort (both approx. 30min), short 15min breaks between the bands and a headlining set by Cordovas who will play for approx. 90min.
I will also personally curate the music before, between and after the bands. Expect Americana, Classic Rock, Folk, Alt-Country, Soul, Indie Rock, Blues, - groovy, uplifting, good-feel music! I can tell you, we will have an awesome concert and party at Privatclub.
